The Ancho Hot Pepper is not too hot; it's just a little spicy--around 1000 on the Scoville scale. These wonderful Heirloom, Non-GMO peppers grow about four inches long on average. In color, they go from green to red. We recommend starting indoors about six to eight weeks before last frost, and these will take about 75 days before you can start picking. These will produce in the North without a lot of special care. To our farmers market friends, the Ancho Hot Pepper will make your CSA boxes and booths liven up.
