Mary Washington Asparagus is one of the oldest asparagus Heirlooms in the USA. It is all Heirloom and Non-GMO. It will give you loads of tender shoots year after year once you get them going; they will last 7 to 10 years and grow in zones 3 to 9. Be sure to start really early and transplant. Under most conditions, it will produce the second year--unless you fool the plant into thinking it has been though a winter the same way you do artichokes in zone 6. We harvest late July into August, and with this variety if we have a late snow we will get two harvests the same season. To our farmers market friends, selling starters from seeds are really easy and your customers will thank you. Happy growing!!!
