Florence Fennel is cold tolerant and grows 3 feet with feathery foliage. A huge base, most fennel is harvested when its smaller to be sliced up and stir fried. This doesn't take a lot of room, and for this purpose it can be picked from 50 days on. If you like using the greens, let it get bigger. If your harvesting small, then plant every couple of weeks.
